
Nigerian singer Burna Boy has set a new record as the most streamed African artist on Spotify in 2025, amassing nearly 2 billion streams.
The Ye crooner recorded 1.986 billion streams, surpassing fellow African artists including Wizkid, Tyla, Rema, and Davido.
According to Spotify’s 2025 streaming data:
- Wizkid came in second with 1.81 billion streams.
- South African singer Tyla ranked third with 1.67 billion streams.
- Rema and Davido followed closely with 1.63 billion and 1.58 billion streams, respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 most streamed African artists were:
- Asake – 1.52 billion streams
- Ayra Starr – 1.47 billion streams
- CKay – 1.38 billion streams
- Seyi Vibez – 1.32 billion streams
- Mr Eazi – 1.26 billion streams
Burna Boy’s record-breaking year confirms his continued dominance in global music streaming and highlights the growing influence of African artists on the world stage.
