C.J. Wallace Sues Music Producer Over False Claims Involving Diddy

Christopher “C.J.” Wallace, son of the late Notorious B.I.G., has filed a defamation lawsuit against music producer Jonathan Hay, formerly known as John Doe, over allegedly false claims involving Wallace and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Allegations

According to Wallace’s complaint, Hay accused him of participating in sexual misconduct at parties hosted by Diddy, including helping to lure Hay to a supposed assault. Wallace denies the claims and asserts that Hay made them with actual malice, knowing they were false.

Wallace’s lawsuit states that the allegations have caused him humiliation, mental anguish, and loss of professional opportunities. He is seeking punitive and compensatory damages, to be determined by a jury.

Background of the Dispute

Wallace’s complaint says the conflict arose after a failed collaboration on Hay’s 2020 “Ready to Dance” remix project. While one song was released, the remaining tracks were shelved due to creative differences and low audience interest. Wallace claims Hay later began making false statements, including that Wallace had a sexual relationship with co-producer Willie Mack and participated in “freak-offs” with Diddy.

In 2021, Wallace’s legal team issued Hay a cease-and-desist letter after Hay threatened to release the unreleased tracks without permission from the Notorious B.I.G. Estate.

Diddy’s Legal Context

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. In July 2025, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and is currently serving a prison sentence.

Wallace’s lawsuit emphasizes that Hay’s allegations are fabricated, and Diddy’s legal team has previously denied the claims.

Current Status

The lawsuit was filed on November 12, 2025, and is pending. Attorneys for both Wallace and Hay did not immediately comment when contacted by PEOPLE.
