Carloha Nigeria has teamed up with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to amplify awareness during the 2025 Ember-Month Safety Campaign. This year’s campaign, with the theme, “Take Responsibility for Your Driving: Stop Distracted Driving,” focuses on the critical role of driver behavior in preventing road accidents.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving, especially during the high-traffic months of September to December, a period historically associated with a higher incidence of road traffic crashes.
Carloha’s Support for FRSC Initiatives
As part of their collaboration, Carloha Nigeria has donated reflective jackets to enhance the visibility of FRSC officers and information-packed flyers for public sensitization throughout the campaign period. These efforts are designed to help officers engage the public more effectively and promote road safety awareness.
Felix Mahan, the General Manager of Marketing at Carloha, expressed the company’s dedication to safer roads: “Our partnership with the FRSC underscores Carloha and Chery’s commitment to promoting safer roads and encouraging responsible driving habits, especially during the high-traffic end-of-year period.” Mahan emphasized that while Chery vehicles are equipped with advanced safety technologies—such as driver-assist systems, anti-collision and emergency brake assist, lane departure warnings, and multiple airbags—the importance of reinforcing a culture of alertness, discipline, and personal responsibility on the road cannot be overstated.
FRSC’s Support and Appreciation
FRSC Assistant Corps Marshal, Ann Oladayo, who is the Zonal Commanding Officer at the RS2 Headquarters in Lagos, expressed gratitude for Carloha’s contribution. She said, “We are delighted to have Carloha and Chery partner with us on this year’s ember-months campaign. The reflective jackets and flyers will significantly enhance the visibility of our officers during public enlightenment activities and support our efforts to reduce road traffic crashes.”
Emphasizing Driver Responsibility
The ember-months safety campaign is particularly important as the end of the year often sees an uptick in travel due to the holidays, which increases the volume of road users. By addressing the root cause of many accidents—distracted driving—the campaign seeks to reduce road traffic fatalities and injuries by promoting responsible driving behaviors. Through public engagement, the FRSC aims to ensure that both drivers and pedestrians take greater care on the roads during this high-risk season.
