Nigerian celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has been formally discharged and acquitted of any involvement in the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
The court ruling came on Monday, December 15, 2025, concluding a three-year legal dispute with Bimbo’s family, who had accused him of causing her death.
IVD’s current partner and self-proclaimed relationship expert, Blessing CEO, shared the news on Instagram, celebrating the verdict and encouraging followers to leave unhealthy or abusive relationships.
In her post, she wrote:
“Discharged and acquitted, 15th December 2025. It ended in praise. Four years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria’s justice system still works. I’m proud of my country. IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations. If a marriage or relationship isn’t working, please leave—it’s your life.”
Report indicate that Bimbo Ogbonna passed away in October 2022 after sustaining injuries in a fire incident at their Lagos residence, which was linked to domestic violence.
In March 2023, IVD was arraigned by the Lagos State Government and charged with involuntary manslaughter but was later released on bail. He was subsequently rearrested on August 1, 2025, while traveling to Qatar ahead of his wedding with Blessing CEO, by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
