
Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has been elected National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), following the successful conclusion of the AGN national elections in Benin City, Edo State.
In a statement issued by her media office, Amusa expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her by guild members:
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. This achievement reflects the trust and confidence reposed in me by members of the guild.”
Amusa promised to bring transparency, innovation, and impactful service to her tenure, stating that she would work to elevate the guild’s operational standards and inspire both current and future members.
A seasoned actress and producer, Amusa has featured in numerous Nollywood films, including the popular Yoruba movie “Dewunmi Iberu.” She affirmed her commitment to promoting the interests of Nigerian actors and actresses and advancing the country’s movie industry as a vital part of national development.
Amusa also currently serves as Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an initiative that celebrates Ijebu’s cultural heritage while promoting the achievements of entertainment industry stars from the region.
“The time has come for the Nigerian movie industry to take its rightful pride of place in national development,” she said.
