Delhi Police Arrests Notorious Gang Member Linked to Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar Syndicate

New Delhi, Jan 12, 2026 — Delhi Police on Monday apprehended a key member of the notorious Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, who had been on the run for months and was wanted in at least 18 criminal cases spanning four states. The accused, identified as Vikas alias Vicky, a resident of Haryana’s Mahendergarh district, was nabbed in Loni, Uttar Pradesh, following a coordinated intelligence operation, officials said.

Vikas was a proclaimed offender with a reward of ₹1 lakh announced by the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) for information leading to his capture. He had been actively involved in the gang’s criminal activities, which included robbery, extortion, and plotting targeted attacks, particularly against rival factions in Delhi and Haryana.

Criminal Background and Gang Affiliations

According to police, Vikas became associated with the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang after previously having contacts with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang during his time in Jaipur jail in 2021. Following factional disputes between the two syndicates, he switched allegiance and became an operative of the Godara–Brar group. His role primarily involved logistics, coordination, and executing assignments such as collecting extortion money and aiding in violent operations.

Vikas is reportedly linked to at least 18 criminal cases registered across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, including serious offenses under the Arms Act and charges related to organized crime and extortion.

Previous Notable Incidents

In 2023, Vikas reportedly arranged a flat in Gurugram for around 10 gang members, who were allegedly planning the murder of Kaushal Chaudhary, a rival gang leader, inside a court complex. Police intercepted the gang members at the flat, but Vikas managed to escape at the time.

Following his escape, he remained underground despite a later arrest in Hisar, Haryana, after which he again disappeared. While evading capture, Vikas continued to engage in gang operations, including firing incidents and extortion threats in Delhi, particularly in June 2025, when the gang reportedly called multiple businessmen demanding money under threat.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Kumar stated that Vikas was absconding in connection with an Arms Act caseregistered at Chanakyapuri police station on June 23 last year. A police patrol team had earlier intercepted a car with a temporary registration number, recovering an illegal pistol from the vehicle. Two occupants, Gurmeet and Amit, were arrested on the spot, but Vikas managed to flee.

Upon his latest arrest, Vikas was taken into police custody for interrogation. Investigators are examining his links to gang operations and are assessing the extent of his involvement in organized crimes, including extortion, armed attacks, and planning of violent incidents in Delhi and neighboring states.

The police have confirmed that proceedings under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are ongoing in the Chanakyapuri case, and further investigations are underway to uncover additional accomplices and recover seized weapons and assets.

Context and Gang Activity

The Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang has been involved in a series of high-profile criminal activities across North and Western India, often clashing with rival outfits such as the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Their operations have included targeted killings, extortion of businessmen, illegal arms possession, and plotting public attacks, posing a significant law and order challenge for multiple state police forces.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of interstate cooperation in tracking such gang members, as they often exploit jurisdictional gaps to evade arrest. The recent capture of Vikas highlights the coordinated efforts of Delhi Police and Haryana STF in dismantling criminal networks operating across state lines.

The Delhi Police confirmed that further action will be taken under relevant laws to ensure prosecution of Vikas and identification of other gang operatives, while reinforcing efforts to curb organized crime in the capital.

This arrest comes amid heightened vigilance following a spate of gang-related incidents in Delhi, and authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to aid law enforcement agencies in preventing further criminal acts.
