Disha Patani’s Father Jagdish Patani Issued Weapons License After Armed Attack on Bareilly Home

Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, has been granted a weapons license by authorities in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district following a violent attack on the family’s residence earlier this year. The development was confirmed by district officials on Sunday, marking a significant step taken in the aftermath of a security breach that left the Patani family shaken.

Jagdish Patani, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, had applied for the license shortly after the incident. According to Bareilly District Magistrate Avnish Singh, the application was processed after all required procedures and verifications were completed, resulting in the issuance of a revolver license for personal protection. Authorities stated that the request was considered seriously given Patani’s background in law enforcement and the severity of the attack.

The September 12 Attack

The attack occurred on September 12, when two unidentified assailants arrived on motorcycles and opened fire near the Patani residence in Bareilly. Reports indicated that approximately ten bullets were fired, raising immediate concerns about targeted violence. A case was promptly registered against the accused.

Within five days, a joint operation involving the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, Haryana STF, and Delhi Police tracked down the suspects. During an encounter in Ghaziabad, the shooters were killed. While the motive behind the attack has not been publicly disclosed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured Disha Patani and her family that stringent action would be taken to ensure their safety and to prevent such incidents in the future.

Following the attack, Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya confirmed that security measures around the Patani residence had been enhanced and would remain in place as a precaution. Officials emphasized that the tight security cordon was necessary given the gravity of the assault and its potential implications.

Disha Patani Moves Forward with Work Commitments

Despite the alarming incident, Disha Patani continues her work in the film industry. The actress, who was last seen in major roles in Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, and in Yodha, remains focused on her upcoming projects.

Patani is set to appear in Welcome to the Jungle with Akshay Kumar, a film expected to move into post-production soon. In addition to her Bollywood commitments, she is also involved in an international venture titled Holiguards, directed by Kevin Spacey. Details regarding the film’s plot and production schedule remain under wraps, but industry reports suggest the project will be formally announced in the coming months. She also has another untitled Hindi film in development.

As investigations formally close with the neutralization of the accused, the issuance of a weapons license to Jagdish Patani is seen as a measure ensuring personal safety and preparedness. Meanwhile, the incident has highlighted concerns about security threats faced by families connected to high-profile public figures, prompting discussions about the adequacy of protective measures provided to them.
