
Randy Madden, former American Idol contestant, has been arrested on multiple felony charges for alleged sexual misconduct with a minor.
The 45-year-old singer, who auditioned for Season 8 of American Idol in 2008, faces charges stemming from at least one alleged sexual encounter between July and September 2025, according to records from the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Charges and Court Proceedings
Madden was formally charged on November 3, 2025, with:
- Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor
- Anal and genital penetration by a foreign object
- Oral copulation of a person under 18
- Sending harmful matter
- Luring a minor
- Dissuading a witness from reporting a crime
Madden appeared in court via Zoom and pleaded not guilty to all counts. A criminal protective order has been filed for the alleged victim. After being booked by the Ventura County Sheriff on October 30, 2025, Madden posted $100,000 bail and was released on November 4. His next court date is scheduled for November 13, 2025.

In a June 2025 update, Madden reported undergoing seven surgeries with at least two more required to repair his leg, describing a challenging recovery that prevents him from working as a hairdresser.
