The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, celebrating the best in film, television, and podcasts. Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the ceremony honored stars like Teyana Taylor, Timothée Chalamet, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Amy Poehler, while films One Battle After Another and Hamnet won top prizes.
Teyana Taylor Balances Culinary School and Hollywood Stardom
While walking the red carpet, Taylor revealed she had requested a culinary homework extension to attend the Globes. A student at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, Taylor explained:
“I do be scared when I be like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God. My deadline is on Tuesday. I gotta have my meal in by Tuesday.’ But I spoke to my chef yesterday and he’s giving me an extension so I can turn my assignment in on Thursday.”
Taylor praised her school for supporting her “double life,” adding, “Shoutout Escoffier—they’ve been very, very supportive of me.”
Teyana Taylor’s First Golden Globe Win
Taylor’s hard work paid off when she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another. She was emotional on stage, thanking her family and director Paul Thomas Anderson:
“Thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless. I love you, we love you, and thank you for holding space for me and our entire cast,” she said.
Taylor also offered words of inspiration to young women of color:
“Our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter and our dreams deserve space.”
Backstage, Taylor told reporters, “I’m still gagging right now. I’m just like, oh, my God. I’m so happy. I’m filled with so much gratitude. I don’t take any of this for granted.”
Emotional Red Carpet Encounter with Julia Roberts
Taylor also shared a tearful moment meeting Julia Roberts on the red carpet. Roberts, presenting One Battle After Another with the award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, embraced Taylor in a magical encounter.
“She’s literally one of my heroes, and what she poured into me literally had me crying,” Taylor said. “She poured so much life into me and I needed that. Oh my God, that was amazing.”
Nikki Glaser Shares Cut Jokes from Hosting the Globes
Comedian Nikki Glaser, 41, revealed some of the jokes that didn’t make it to the telecast during an interview on The Howard Stern Show. Highlights included:
- Brad Pitt: “Brad, I don’t want to embarrass you, but your blinker was on the whole time.”
- Julia Roberts: “I’m assuming the hunt [in After the Hunt] was to find someone who’s seen it.”
- Sean Penn, Jonathan Bailey, Sydney Sweeney: Glaser shared playful jabs but noted she avoided anything that could offend.
Glaser emphasized that her humor comes from a place of respect:
“As long as I really like these people and respect what they do, I can get away with saying something negative.”
