“Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish” – Oluyede Applauds Fayose’s Expulsion from PDP

The Ekiti State PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has welcomed the expulsion of former governor Ayo Fayose from the party, describing it as “good riddance to bad rubbish.”

Oluyede emphasized that the party will not allow Fayose to undermine the structures being built to secure victory in the 2026 governorship election. He also called on the former governor to take responsibility for his alleged anti-party actions over the past three years.

Speaking after a stakeholders’ meeting in Ado-Ekiti, the Australia-based medical doctor stated that the PDP in Ekiti remains united and stronger than ever, despite national-level crises and Fayose’s activities.

He further urged the Tunji Odeyemi-led State Executive to establish a reconciliation committee to address the grievances of aspirants who lost the primary elections and other disgruntled party members.

On national-level party disputes, Oluyede said:

“Parties always have issues anywhere in the world, that’s why they are called political parties. I am focused on Ekiti. All I need is the support of the people, and that’s what we are going to get. If Fayose wants to return, he will be welcomed, but if he tries to bulldoze the party, we will not allow it.”

He added:

“Nobody builds a house and then brings a bulldozer to destroy it. Thank God, he hasn’t pulled us down. We are building, we are getting stronger, and there is no faction in this party.”

Meanwhile, PDP Chairman in Ekiti State, Tunji Odeyemi, called on members to mobilize support at the grassroots level to ensure the party’s success in 2026. He vowed not to rest until the PDP clinches victory in the upcoming governorship election.
