Gov. Kefas Orders Immediate Deboarding of All Schools in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has directed that all public and private secondary schools in the state immediately deboard their students in response to rising insecurity nationwide.

The directive was issued through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, citing recent attacks and abductions in other states, including Kebbi and Niger, as a warning of the risks facing boarding students.

Dr. Godwin explained that the governor has ordered all secondary schools to operate strictly as day schools until further notice. School principals and owners have been instructed to remove all boarding arrangements without delay.

The move is described as a proactive measure to safeguard students, preventing potential threats linked to the ongoing unrest across the country.

The government reassured parents of its commitment to restoring safety and pledged continued collaboration with security agencies. School authorities have been urged to strictly comply with the directive and heighten vigilance within their premises.
