Gov. Radda Inaugurates Katsina State Council of Emirs

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has inaugurated the Katsina State Council of Emirs, appointing key traditional leaders to guide the state on cultural, religious, and administrative matters.

  • Chairman: Emir of Katsina, Abdulmuminu Kabir-Usman
  • Co-Chairman: Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar-Faruk
  • Secretary: Sen. Ibrahim Idah, Wazirin Katsina
  • Assistant Secretary: Alhaji Sada Salisu-Ruma, Danwairen Katsina
  • Members: All king-makers across the emirates, traditional title holders, non-title holders, and the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Faskari, alongside Dahiru Barau-Mangal, Baba Buhari Walin Daura, Sheikh Yakubu Musa, Sheikh Naziru Kofar-Waru, and Abdul’aziz Abdul’aziz.

Council Functions:

  • Advise the governor on Islamic/customary laws, cultural affairs, and inter-communal relationships
  • Maintain public order, peace, and security upon request
  • Support traditional institutions, community development, and tax collection
  • Assist in forest conservation, environmental protection, and periodic community sanitation

The council pledged full support to the governor and committed to protecting the interests of the emirate councils, the state government, and citizens.
