Halsey Provides Health Update After ‘Minor Medical Emergency’ on Back to Badlands Tour in Boston

Pop star Halsey shared a health update on Monday, November 3, 2025, following a minor medical emergency while performing in Boston during their Back to Badlands international tour. The singer, who uses she/they pronouns, reassured fans that they are “A-Okay” and ready to continue performing, despite a late-night hospital visit.

Halsey’s Medical Emergency in Boston

Halsey posted on Instagram Stories from Mass General Hospital, revealing:

“Boston I’m gonna be honest with ya, after the show last night I was in the ER till 6 this morning. Minor medical emergency but I am A-Okay now and ready to rock tonight! But if I’m pacing myself, that’s why!”

They expressed gratitude for the medical team, including Dr. Kian, Dr. Victoria, and nurses Carolyn and Alicia, as well as imaging staff, transport teams, and patient relations staff. Halsey added, “I am so so grateful! LETS ROCK TONIGHT!”

As of that evening, the singer was scheduled to return to the stage at MGM Music Hall in Boston for their second show in the city. They did not disclose the exact nature of the medical emergency.

Ongoing Health Journey

This incident comes a month after Halsey shared that they had recently undergone chemotherapy. Diagnosed in 2022 with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, the Grammy-nominated artist has been open about their health struggles while continuing their musical career.

In a TikTok update posted on September 26, 2025, Halsey shared:

“Just coming on here to give you guys another speed round of updates. [I] just did another few sessions of chemo,” and noted they had a new chemo port placed.

A chemo port is a small, implantable device attached to a vein (usually in the upper chest) that allows healthcare providers to administer chemotherapy and draw blood without repeated needle sticks. It can remain in place for weeks, months, or even years.

Lupus and Lymphoproliferative Disorders

Lupus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks healthy tissues, leading to inflammation that can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. Currently, there is no cure, and treatments focus on managing symptoms and preventing flare-ups.

T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders are rare conditions characterized by the uncontrolled production of white blood cells called lymphocytes, which can include forms of leukemia and lymphoma.

Despite these health challenges, Halsey continues to tour internationally to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Badlands, proving their resilience and dedication to fans worldwide.

Back to Badlands Tour

The Back to Badlands international tour honors the iconic album that launched Halsey’s career. Known for hits like “New Americana” and “Castle”, Halsey’s performances combine high-energy stage presence with deeply personal storytelling, resonating with fans across the globe.
