Reality star, entrepreneur, and aspiring lawyer Kim Kardashian recently revealed that she used ChatGPT to study for her law exams — and humorously blamed the AI chatbot for her failing results. Speaking during Vanity Fair’s lie detector test interview series, Kardashian, 45, described a “toxic friendship” with the generative AI tool, which she had relied on for legal advice.
Kim Kardashian on Using ChatGPT for Law School
During the interview, Kardashian’s All’s Fair co-star Teyana Taylor asked whether she consulted ChatGPT for “life advice” or “dating advice,” or if she considered it a friend. Kardashian admitted she had not, but confirmed she used the AI for legal study purposes.
“When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there,” Kardashian explained. “It has made me fail tests … all the time. And then I’ll get mad and I’ll yell at it.”
Taylor jokingly referred to ChatGPT as a “frenemy,” a label Kardashian agreed with, noting the AI often tries to turn the situation into a life lesson:
“It’s just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along,” Kardashian said.
Taylor added: “So technically, you and ChatGPT are friends, just toxic friends.” Kardashian responded with agreement, emphasizing the unpredictable relationship she has with the AI.
ChatGPT as a Study Tool
Kardashian also joked about her reliance on ChatGPT, taking screenshots to share in her group chats:
“Can you believe this bitch is talking to me like this? This is insane,” she said, highlighting the humorous frustrations of using AI for exam preparation.
According to TMZ, the California Bar Exam, which Kardashian is preparing for, includes five one-hour essay questions, one 90-minute performance test, and 200 multiple-choice questions — a demanding exam that pushes applicants to their limits.
All’s Fair and Kardashian’s Legal Ambitions
Kardashian stars in All’s Fair, a Hulu series centered on an all-female law firm, alongside Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, and Niecy Nash-Betts. The show premiered on November 4, 2025, and provides a humorous yet dramatic backdrop for Kardashian’s ongoing legal studies.
The series highlights the lives of divorce attorneys navigating high-stakes legal work, while Kardashian continues to pursue her real-life goal of passing the California Bar Exam. Her candid discussion about using AI for legal studies underscores the challenges and humor of balancing celebrity life with serious professional ambitions.
