I Won’t Go Hungry Despite TikTok Nighttime Live Ban – Peller

Popular Nigerian TikToker Peller has downplayed concerns over the temporary restriction of TikTok live streams in Nigeria, assuring fans and critics that his financial stability remains unaffected.

The ban, which restricts access to TikTok’s LIVE feature during late-night hours, was implemented as part of what the platform described as an ongoing safety investigation.

In a video shared on his TikTok page, Peller expressed surprise at expectations that the restriction would hurt him financially, citing his numerous brand partnerships and ambassadorships, each worth at least N40 million.

“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than N40 million,” he said.

He highlighted that his digital influence extends beyond TikTok, with long-term partnerships and endorsements ensuring continued income. Peller also warned that limiting nighttime livestreams could impact engagement and income for emerging creators, stressing TikTok’s role in empowering Nigerian youth and providing a platform for rapid growth.

“Many people will grow up on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on,” he said.

The content creator reiterated his commitment to fans, frequently redistributing gifts received during livestreams through giveaways. He urged authorities and platform managers to consider the economic implications of the ban, emphasizing the platform’s accessibility and opportunities for young Nigerians.
