Afrobeats sensation Tems has revealed what career path she might have pursued if music hadn’t worked out.

During an interactive session with fans on X, a fan asked, “If music didn’t work, what else do you think you would be doing today?”

Tems responded, “I might have been an accountant or a mathematics teacher.”

Before her rise to stardom, Tems worked as a digital marketer, a job she left in January 2018 to fully focus on her music career. Just months later, she released her debut single, “Mr Rebel”, which began gaining traction in Nigeria.

Her major breakthrough came in 2020 when she was featured on Wizkid’s hit single “Essence”, which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart following the remix with Justin Bieber.
