The 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has begun with festivities marking a decade of his reign.
The celebrations opened with a coronation quiz and debate competition, sponsored by Mr. Victor Badejo, attracting 100 students from Ife land. Winners received cash prizes for their participation.
An event titled “A Day with Ojaja II”, organized by the Ife Development Board (IDB), brought together secondary school students, artisans, youths, and elders for a royal procession. The parade traversed major streets of Ife, concluding at the palace with prayers led by Islamic, Christian, and traditional religion leaders.
At a royal dinner, Oba Ogunwusi expressed gratitude for the support of natives and residents over the past decade and reflected on both the opportunities and challenges of his reign. He urged a renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, and united Ile Ife and Oduduwa race.
