IGLA 2025 Scorecard Ranks Aiyedatiwa’s Cabinet, Highlights Top Performers

The Institute for Governance and Leadership Accountability (IGLA) has released its 2025 end-of-year assessment of the Ondo State Government under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, praising the administration for its focus on competence, accountability, and people-centered governance.

The review, conducted across six geopolitical zones, sampled Lagos, Ogun, and Ondo in the Southwest. It noted notable progress in infrastructure renewal, fiscal discipline, justice administration, human capital development, and social inclusion, attributing results to the Governor’s calm yet decisive leadership and strategic planning.

According to the report, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, emerged as the best-performing executive council member, recognized for defending the rule of law, implementing legal reforms, maintaining institutional discipline, and accessibility to both public and professional stakeholders. He also chairs key government bodies, including the Anti-Human Trafficking and Anti-Land-Grabbing Task Forces.

Other top performers include:

  • Mr. Olaolu Akindolire (Budget & Economic Planning) – praised for strategic fiscal management and policy alignment.
  • Dr. Banji Ajaka (Health) – acknowledged for strengthening healthcare delivery.
  • Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun (Education) – commended for reform-driven initiatives in public education.
  • Engr. Ayorinde Olawoye (Works & Infrastructure) – recognized for visible progress in infrastructure.
  • Dr. Seun Abosede Osamaye (Women Affairs & Social Development) – noted for advocacy and grassroots engagement.

The assessment ranked commissioners across 10 measurable criteria including achievement, responsiveness, accountability, accessibility, communication, and public engagement. The methodology combined field observations, structured interviews, stakeholder feedback, media review, and comparative analysis with peer states.

Speaking on the findings, IGLA Director Dr. George Olayiwola Aladesuru described Aiyedatiwa’s cabinet as “a carefully assembled team of professionals whose collective output underscores the Governor’s eye for capacity, character, and competence,” adding that the results reflect leadership focused on service over spectacle.

The report urged cabinet members to view the assessment as both recognition of effort and a roadmap for enhanced engagement and public service delivery.
