Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State – Furious youths in the Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti set a brand-new vehicle ablaze after it reportedly ran over a local meat seller. The vehicle, believed to belong to a suspected internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a Yahoo Boy, sparked public outrage following the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported that the car was speeding from the Ijigbo axis when it struck the meat seller, crushing one of his legs beyond repair. The victim, who was operating at the main junction, was seriously injured in the accident.

Local youths quickly confronted the driver and the passenger, ultimately setting the vehicle on fire in protest. The occupants have since been handed over to security agencies for further investigation.

The incident has intensified calls for stricter road safety enforcement and swift justice in Ekiti State.
