Jonathan’s Ex-Aide, Dudafa, Congratulates Gov Diri on Defection to APC

Former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters and Social Events, Dr. Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, has congratulated Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri on his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Diri, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), formally joined the ruling APC in a ceremony attended by top government officials and party leaders.

Reacting to the development in a statement on Tuesday, Dudafa described the governor’s decision as “a wise and strategic move that aligns Bayelsa State with the centre for accelerated development and deeper political inclusion.”

He commended Diri’s leadership style, saying it has always been defined by consultation, inclusiveness, and a commitment to the common good.

“Your decision to work in harmony with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in synergy with your Assured Prosperity Vision, will undoubtedly foster transformation and progress for Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta region,” Dudafa stated.

Praising the governor’s performance, the former presidential aide said Diri’s administration has been marked by purposeful governance and visible achievements.

“Since assuming office, you have consistently demonstrated your resolve to act in the public interest, consult widely, and deliver measurable development outcomes. This same principle, I believe, guided your latest political alignment,” he added.

Dudafa reaffirmed his loyalty and support for the governor, pledging continued collaboration to sustain peace, unity, and growth across the state.

“We shall continue to stand by your leadership and lend our support to ensure you finish strong. Your political maturity and developmental focus have repositioned Bayelsa for a brighter future,” he said.

He further lauded Diri’s courage and vision, stressing that aligning Bayelsa with the APC-led Federal Government would strengthen inclusive governance and attract greater federal presence to the state.
