Trump: Lagos APC Tells Peter Obi to Choose Between Nigeria and Desperation

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to “choose between Nigeria and desperation,” accusing him of exploiting national issues for political relevance.

The party’s spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, made the remark in a statement on Tuesday while reacting to Obi’s comments on Nigeria’s recent designation by the United States as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

Obi had attributed the classification to the alleged incompetence and poor resource management by Nigerian leaders.

Responding, Oladejo said Obi’s remarks reflected political bitterness rather than patriotism.

“Obi must decide whether he stands with Nigeria or with his ever-shrinking echo chamber of bitterness and resentment. No serious nation is built on the politics of sulking and sensationalism,” Oladejo stated.

He further claimed Obi’s conduct vindicated voters’ rejection of him during the last election.

“His recent behaviour confirms why Nigerians rejected him. Leadership demands maturity, not melodrama and delayed outrage,” he added.

The APC spokesman maintained that Nigeria would overcome its challenges regardless of criticism from political opponents.

“Nigeria will not bow to those wishing for its failure. We urge citizens to stay focused on the Renewed Hope Agenda and reject individuals who profit politically from national hardship. Nigeria will succeed, despite the naysayers,” Oladejo declared.
