The statement praised the Kaduna State Government, led by Gov. Uba Sani, for its proactive health policies, highlighting achievements such as:
- Approval and implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS/CONMESS) for health workers.
- Promotion and implementation of three years’ outstanding staff promotions.
- Upgrading and renovation of 255 health facilities and general hospitals.
- Provision of essential medical equipment to primary health care centres and hospitals.
- Supply of ambulances to enhance referral services.
- Ongoing recruitment of 1,800 health professionals under the State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB).
The union emphasized that more than 90% of SPHCB staff are MHWUN members, and there is no justification or intention to disrupt industrial harmony.
MHWUN expressed confidence that the government is aware of its outstanding demands and assured its commitment to industrial peace, dialogue, and cooperation, urging the public to disregard rumours of a strike.
