Kandi Burruss Confirms Divorce
During an Amazon Live on November 24, Burruss shared details about the split, telling fans that while she officially filed for divorce on Friday, “this is something that has been brewing for a while.” She added, “Life has been life-ing me. All the times you’ve been seeing me online [all smiles] means nothing. I’ve been going through it.”
The reality star also addressed her emotional ups and downs: “Sometimes you’re cool … then sometimes you have your moments of sadness. Going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing.”
Commitment to Co-Parenting
Burruss and Tucker share two children, son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6. Despite their separation, Burruss emphasized their commitment to co-parenting:
“We are parents together. We are co-parenting together. We have beautiful children together, so we are trying to make this transition as smooth as it could possibly be for our kids. That is our main concern. We are keeping it very friendly.”
She also noted that they celebrated Blaze’s sixth birthday together just days before Thanksgiving and planned to spend the holiday together as well.
Reflections on Privacy and Public Perception
Having left RHOA after 14 seasons, Burruss expressed a desire to keep private matters out of the public eye:
“In real life, in my everyday life, I really don’t like those moments to be shared with the world. But I’m sharing with my Amazon family today — I am up and down.”
She also addressed online commentary, acknowledging the difficulty of dealing with public narratives about her personal life:
“Everyone’s making their own narrative of what’s going on. Sometimes things just don’t work out. It just is what it is.”
Looking Ahead: A New Chapter
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Burruss said she is focusing on her peace, family, and personal growth:
“This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect. I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
