Kris Jenner Plans Family Mausoleum: Keeping the Kardashians Close in the Afterlife

Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, is making plans to ensure her family stays together even after death. During the November 13 episode of The Kardashians (Season 7), Kris, 70, revealed she wants to build a private family mausoleum where all members of the family can be buried.

Kris Jenner Takes the Lead on Family End-of-Life Planning

Kris explained to her daughter Khloé Kardashian, 41, that it’s “time” for the family to make decisions about burial preferences. The two visited a cemetery to explore plots and discuss options.

“Because I am this person who suffers from a tad of OCD and having things buttoned up and organized, I feel like it’s my responsibility as the head of the family to get everybody on the same bandwagon to figure it out,” Kris said in a confessional. “So that if something does happen, we’re prepared and nobody really has to panic.”

Kris added that while she believes she’s going to heaven, where her Earthly body ends up is still important to her. With her characteristic humor, she joked, “This [cemetery] is right next to Costco. You could go to Costco, do your shopping, pop in, say hi to me.”

Family Members Reveal Burial and Cremation Preferences

The episode also highlighted the family’s varying opinions on burial and cremation:

  • Khloé Kardashian: Wants to be cremated to make it easier for her children, True, 7, and Tatum, 3. She said, “Wouldn’t you rather have me in a little jar in your house, than buried in dirt?”
  • Kris Jenner: Insists she cannot be cremated because youngest daughter Kylie, 28, disagrees.
  • Kourtney Kardashian, 46: Prefers to be buried.
  • Kim Kardashian, 45: Indifferent, open to either burial or cremation.
  • Kendall Jenner, 30: Declined to answer, saying she doesn’t like talking about death.

Kris also mentioned the possibility of moving Robert Kardashian Sr. into the mausoleum if a plot is large enough, showing her commitment to keeping the family together.

Why Planning Matters to the Kardashians

Khloé reflected on losing her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., to cancer at 19, explaining that the family didn’t have arrangements “buttoned up” at that time. She wants to make sure her own children are spared similar complications when the time comes.

Despite the family’s occasional disagreements, Kris hopes to have everything organized. “We’re never going to get this done because there’s so much arguing,” Khloé admitted. “Even in the afterlife, we’re still going to be arguing. I can promise you this isn’t the end of us.”

Kris concluded with her signature wit, saying she’ll be “having a martini in heaven watching the show” after her passing.
