Hall Breaks New Ground in 72-Hole Event
Unlike her previous three Australian victories, which came in 36-hole sprint events, Hall showcased endurance and consistency over the full 72-hole format, finishing at level par to claim the title. Her experience and composure under pressure were evident throughout the tournament, as she held off strong challenges from local players.
“I’m really pleased to kick the season off with the win. First time for everything. It’s been 18 years,” Hall said. “Obviously an historic event as well. It’s definitely one that I’ve always wanted to have on my CV at the end of my career and yeah, really pleased to get it.”
Career Highlights and Future Goals
Hall’s most notable career victory came in 2012, when she won the Ladies British Masters, but her latest triumph in Australia adds another significant milestone to her long and successful career. With her eyes now on upcoming tournaments, Hall is focused on the four events co-sanctioned by the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the Ladies European Tour.
Among these, the Women’s Australian Open at Kooyonga and the Australian WPGA Championship at Sanctuary Cove are key targets. Hall’s experience, skill, and resilience position her as a serious contender in both events.
“I mean, as long as I can keep doing what I’ve been doing, I know I’ve always got a chance,” Hall said. “We’ll just have to see what happens.”
Vic Open: A Historic Event
The Vic Open is renowned for attracting top talent from both Australasia and Europe, making Hall’s win particularly notable. Her performance demonstrates her ability to compete at the highest level while maintaining consistency across multiple rounds.
This victory also adds to the growing legacy of Welsh golfers excelling on the international stage, reinforcing Hall’s status as one of the country’s most successful female players.
