Meghan Trainor Opens Up About 60-Pound Weight Loss and Facing Criticism: ‘I’ve Never Felt Better’

Meghan Trainor is speaking candidly about her weight loss journey and the criticism she has faced since losing 60 pounds. The Grammy-winning singer, 31, emphasized that prioritizing her health has left her feeling “strongest and healthiest” she’s ever been.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight published on November 12, 2025, Trainor shared, “I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great. And that’s when people attack me.”

Using Mounjaro as Part of Her Health Journey

Earlier this year, in March 2025, Trainor revealed that she had incorporated Mounjaro, the GLP-1 injectable tirzepatide, into her post-pregnancy wellness routine. She clarified that her journey wasn’t solely about medication, but included working closely with a dietician, making lifestyle changes, and maintaining a consistent fitness routine.

At Billboard’s 2025 Women in Music Awards, Trainor explained, “I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me. Yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my second pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

Trainor has stressed that her focus is on health and self-care. She said, “I’m taking care of myself. I have to find a way to not be affected by that [criticism].”

Facing Criticism from the Public

Despite her success, Trainor has been open about the negative attention she has received online. Fans and followers reportedly commented on her appearance, with some saying she looked “too thin” or “unrecognizable.” Trainor admitted that the criticism initially left her confused and sad, but she has since embraced a mindset of self-acceptance.

“People started commenting about my body, saying I’m too thin, and that they don’t recognize me anymore. And I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I’ve never felt better.’ So, I was confused and sad… It’s almost worse now,” she explained.

New Music and Self-Expression

Trainor’s weight loss and wellness journey are mirrored in her creative output. She released “Still Don’t Care,” the lead single from her upcoming album Toy With Me, which she describes as a form of exposure therapy. “I liked the idea of… ‘Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don’t care.’ And I know that when I start singing it, it’ll be my therapy, my exposure therapy,” Trainor shared.

The singer hopes the new music will allow her fans to connect with her experiences, emphasizing that self-care, health, and mental wellness are her top priorities while continuing to embrace her career and motherhood.
