As the world marks International Men’s Day, stakeholders and government agencies in Nigeria have been urged to prioritize men’s mental health.
The call was made by the Initiative for Social Impact and Sustainable Development, highlighting the unique challenges faced by men and boys and emphasizing the need to support them in reaching their full potential and contributing meaningfully to society.
Coordinator Funmi Falobi stressed the importance of mental health in light of the 2025 theme: “Celebrating Men and Boys.”
She said, “The contributions of men to the socio-economic and political development of society cannot be overlooked. Today, we celebrate men’s resilience, achievements, and roles in families, communities, and nation-building. But we must also address their mental health to ensure a safe and thriving society.”
