
The Bauchi State chapter of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has raised concerns about widespread corruption and its threat to national stability. The statement came after a leadership training workshop organized by the National Islamic Centre, Zaria (The Muslim Ummah) at the Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Camp, Bauchi.

- Corruption & leadership: Emphasis on piety (Taqwa) as central to effective leadership and national development.
- Poverty & hardship: Called for measures to ease citizens’ economic burdens.
- Insecurity: Condemned banditry and kidnappings, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives.
- Palestinian cause: Supported the Federal Government’s call for a ceasefire in Gaza and criticized U.S. plans to designate Hamas as a terrorist group.
- Organizational updates: New leadership structures were inaugurated across Bauchi’s 20 local government areas; elections were held for state-level positions.
The workshop had 345 participants, including delegates from Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Plateau, and Jigawa, alongside leaders of 14 other Islamic organizations.
