The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) have taken steps to strengthen revenue collection for the Federation.
The move followed a visit by NUPRC Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, to the NRS corporate headquarters in Abuja on Monday, where she met with NRS Chairman, Mr. Zacc Adedeji. The engagement is part of Eyesan’s broader stakeholder consultations since assuming office last month, according to Eniola Akinkuotu, NUPRC’s Head of Media and Strategic Communication.
The collaboration comes in line with the new tax laws effective January 1, 2026, which aim to streamline and enhance oil and gas revenue collection. Both agencies agreed to work closely to achieve government revenue targets.
