Okumagba Congratulates Eyesan on Appointment as NUPRC CEO

Prominent APC leader in Delta State and former Finance Commissioner, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, has congratulated Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan on her appointment as CEO of the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

In a statement on Monday, Okumagba highlighted Eyesan’s distinguished career in the oil and gas sector, noting her successful tenure as Executive Vice President Upstream at NNPC. He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment and lauded Eyesan’s commitment to digitisation and automation within the upstream petroleum sector, emphasized during her Senate screening.

Okumagba stated:

“Nigeria needs to enhance metering and comprehensive monitoring of oil and gas production across upstream operations. Deploying advanced technologies will improve operational efficiency, transparency, and environmental sustainability, aligning our practices with global standards.”

He stressed the importance of establishing a centralised control and data monitoring centre to provide real-time visibility on oil and gas production, flare-gas volumes, emissions, revenue capturing, and operational compliance nationwide.

Okumagba further noted that President Tinubu’s reforms aim to increase national oil and gas production, requiring dedicated implementation by stakeholders. He emphasized the need to attract investments, boost efficiency, and ensure a vibrant petroleum sector that strengthens national revenues.

He concluded by urging all stakeholders to support Eyesan as she assumes responsibility for enhancing regulatory oversight and improving Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
