Nigerian music star Olamide Baddo, 36, has clarified that Wizkid, 35, is his senior in the music industry.

Both artists rose to prominence in 2010—Wizkid with Holla AT Your Boy in January, and Olamide with Eni Duro a few months later—and were nominated in the Next Rated category at the 2011 Headies Awards, which Wizkid won.

In a recent interview with streamer Azeeez, Olamide explained that Wizkid started his music career a year or two before him. “Wizkid and I didn’t start doing music at the same time. He was already putting out music before I came,” he stated.

It’s worth noting that Wizkid featured in M.I’s 2008 hit Fast Money/Fast Cars, two years prior to his rise to fame.
