One person has died and six others have been seriously injured following a stampede at the Gusau residence of the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, multiple security sources confirmed to SaharaReporters on Friday.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday when a large crowd surged toward the minister’s residence in anticipation of his arrival. The sudden rush reportedly triggered panic and chaos, resulting in the fatal stampede.
