Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, has urged the public to disregard false reports claiming an attack on the institution.

The college clarified that it is not under any siege and that a picture circulating online, suggesting militants at its entrance, is AI-generated.

In a statement signed by Deputy Registrar of Public & Alumni Relations, Opeyemi Olawore, the management condemned the misleading image, describing it as capable of causing unnecessary panic among students, parents, and the local community.

“The OYSCATECH community and its environs are peaceful and safe. Students are attending lectures and continuing their normal activities,” the statement read.

The college highlighted that on Friday, November 28, 2025, it successfully held the matriculation ceremony for degree students, which was attended by parents and visitors from across and outside Oyo State.

The management warned that anyone caught spreading false AI-generated content about the institution would face legal consequences.
