
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has appointed Jerry Amah as its acting general secretary, following the retirement of Lumumba Okugbawa after 25 years of service.
Amah, previously serving as assistant general secretary, was elected to the position during the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
He holds a Bachelor’s and Master of Science degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Lagos and has extensive professional experience, including serving as Director of Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, and Protocols at the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.
PENGASSAN President congratulated Amah, urging him to continue advancing the union’s mission and championing the welfare of workers in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
In his acceptance remarks, Amah emphasized that the appointment provides him greater capacity to serve the union effectively and uphold its objectives.
