Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has endorsed his party’s governorship candidate, George Moghalu, in the upcoming Anambra State election.

Obi, however, emphasized that the final decision rests with the electorate. In a statement released by the Obidient Movement National Coordinator, Tanko Yunusa, Obi said:

“I will support my party candidate, George Moghalu, despite it not being my election, but my conscience says so. However, the decision of who becomes the next governor of the state lies solely on the shoulders of Anambarians (Ndi Anambra).”

Demonstrating his support, Obi reportedly walked through streets in Anambra despite rain and poor road conditions, showing solidarity with Moghalu.

Obi concluded by urging Anambra voters to exercise their democratic right responsibly:

“Vote wisely! A New Nigeria is POssible.”
