
Security agencies, including police tactical units and military personnel, have launched an operation to locate the students abducted from St. Mary’s Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, Niger State.
The abduction occurred in the early hours of Friday, when armed assailants invaded the school and took away an undetermined number of students and staff from the hostel, according to the Niger State Police Command.
Spokesperson SP W. A. Abiodun confirmed the incident and stated that the police, military, and other security personnel are combing surrounding forests in a coordinated effort to rescue the abducted individuals.
Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safe recovery of the students. He also urged the public to remain calm and support security operations.
