
Abuja, Nigeria – As Nigeria continues its fight to completely eliminate polio, Rotary International has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening health initiatives across the country.
This was disclosed by Ibim Semenitari, Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 22, Region 27, in a statement ahead of the upcoming visit of Rotary Foundation Chairman and Past Rotary International President, Holger Knaack, and his spouse, Susanne, to Nigeria.
Semenitari said the visit, scheduled for November 1–7, 2025, will focus on reinforcing polio eradication efforts, promoting health initiatives, and protecting mothers and children.
“During the visit, Mr. Knaack will engage with Rotary leaders, government officials, and partners including the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA),” she said.
Similarly, Rotary International President-Elect Yinka Babalola emphasized, “Our shared goal is not only to end polio but to build lasting systems that keep families healthy and strong.”
The visit underscores Rotary International’s enduring commitment to disease prevention and the overall strengthening of Nigeria’s healthcare initiatives.
