Rachel Zoe Criticizes Ex Rodger Berman for Publicizing New Relationship Before Telling Their Sons

Fashion mogul Rachel Zoe is speaking out about her ex-husband Rodger Berman after he was photographed with his new girlfriend Bree Jacoby only four months following their separation in September 2024. On the December 11 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Zoe expressed frustration over Berman’s handling of the situation, emphasizing the impact it had on their children, Skyler (14) and Kaius (11).

Zoe Addresses the Public Exposure

During a candid lunch with co-star Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, Zoe shared her perspective on seeing her ex in the media with his girlfriend:

“Well, I did. It’s funny because no one really cared—it came out in the Daily Mail,” Zoe explained.

She highlighted the timing and the lack of communication with their children:

“Please remember that I have kids that are 14 and 11. For me it’s a lot of: ‘Are you okay? Are you unwell? What the f— are you thinking about?’ I didn’t understand, and it really upset me.”

The Impact on Zoe’s Children

In a confessional, Zoe made it clear how important it is to manage public exposure carefully, especially when children are involved:

“I can’t think of anything more f—— indiscreet than being photographed on the sidewalks of Los Angeles with your arm around your girlfriend that no one knows about, and—most importantly—that your children don’t know about. Use your f—— head. What about your businesses? What about your team? What about our investors? What about our company, our kids? Hide. Hide.”

She noted that the boys’ relationship with Berman has been “tricky” since the split, adding:

“I think that they wonder why he sometimes does or says things he says, why he acts the way he does, why there’s time spent with his girlfriend versus his kids.”

Zoe Reflects on Life After the Split

Zoe also discussed her personal growth and independence since the divorce:

“Life post-split can be paralyzing at times, but it’s also been incredibly refreshing to make all my decisions for myself and for my kids and not have to check and ask anyone about anything. There’s a freedom that I have never experienced. It’s wild.”

She described her mindset toward the end of the marriage:

“I was living in an anxious state with shields up all the time. I felt like I was walking on eggshells about things like, ‘Can you put my carry-on in the overhead? I can’t lift it.’ And it was like f—— Jekyll and Hyde.”

Context: Berman’s Relationship Timeline

According to prior episodes, Zoe revealed that Berman had been dating Bree Jacoby for about a year, and their sons had been aware of the relationship for roughly ten months. Zoe implied that the relationship began almost immediately after their separation:

“I’ll let you do the math,” she said when asked about the timing.
