Ranveer Singh–Akshaye Khanna’s Dhurandhar 2 release date unchanged; teaser to debut with Border 2

Putting an end to recent speculation, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2—starring Ranveer Singh with Akshaye Khannais not facing any delay and will release as scheduled on March 19, 2026, sources confirm.

Earlier buzz had suggested the much-anticipated sequel might be pushed, leaving fans disappointed. However, it is now clear that the makers are firmly sticking to the planned Eid 2026 release window.

Dhurandhar 2 teaser strategy revealed

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the first teaser of Dhurandhar 2 will be attached to Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan’s upcoming war drama Border 2, which hits theatres on January 23, 2026.

A source told the publication that director Aditya Dhar has re-edited the end-credit sequence of Dhurandhar (Part 1)and repurposed it into a teaser format for the sequel.

“The idea is to replug the release date in the minds of cinema-going audiences. Dhurandhar 2 is confirmed for an Eid 2026 release, and the teaser will re-establish the date with some newer visuals,” the source said.

The teaser will premiere exclusively in theatres with Border 2 and will be released digitally later, making the big-screen reveal a special treat for early viewers. The full trailer, meanwhile, is expected to drop towards the end of February.

Riding the wave of patriotic cinema

With Border 2 following films like Dhurandhar and Ikkis, industry insiders believe Jio Studios is keen to capitalize on the ongoing wave of nationalistic cinema.

“Both Border 2 and Dhurandhar 2 are rooted in patriotic themes, and the timing helps build momentum for the sequel,” the source added.

For now, fans can mark their calendars—Dhurandhar 2 is firmly locked for March 19, 2026, with its first big tease arriving in cinemas later this month.
