RHOP Star Wendy Osefo Breaks Her Silence After Arrest on Multiple Fraud Charges

Dr. Wendy Osefo, the reality star from The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP), has spoken publicly for the first time since she and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested on multiple fraud charges in Maryland earlier this month. The couple faces a total of 16 charges, including seven felonies related to alleged false or misleading information exceeding $300.

Wendy Osefo Speaks Out on Instagram

On October 19, Wendy took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with her followers, expressing gratitude for the support she and her family have received. Posing in a striking black-and-white gown, she wrote:

“And through it all, GOD remains faithful. Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful 🙏🏾.”

In addition to addressing the charges, Wendy encouraged fans to tune in to the latest episode of RHOP, reminding viewers of her ongoing work in the reality TV spotlight.

Arrest and Fraud Allegations

The Osefos were booked in Westminster, Maryland, on October 9, 2025. According to the Westminster Police Department (WPD), the couple faces 16 charges, seven of which are felonies related to alleged fraudulent activity involving more than $300 in false or misleading information.

Authorities allege that Wendy and Eddie reported designer bags and jewelry stolen during a burglary at their Jamaica home in April 2024. However, investigations revealed that some items had been purchased and returned prior to the reported burglary. In addition, prosecutors claim Wendy was seen wearing one of the allegedly stolen diamond rings on social media following the incident.

Court documents also indicate that the couple claimed a personal property loss of $450,000 via insurance, which prosecutors are investigating as part of the fraud case.

Career and Personal Life Updates

Wendy Osefo joined RHOP in Season 5 and is also set to appear in Bravo’s upcoming series Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition. However, the premiere originally planned for October 14 has been delayed to October 21, and her episode will no longer be part of the initial airing.

The couple, who share three children—Karter (12), Kruz (10), and Kamrynn (6)—celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary in August.

Following her arrest, Wendy voluntarily resigned from her position as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Wesleyan University. A spokesperson clarified that she was not terminated but made the decision independently before any public announcement:

“Contrary to recent media reports, Dr. Wendy Osefo was not terminated from a faculty position at Wesleyan University. She formally submitted her letter of resignation prior to any public announcement made by the university. Dr. Osefo made the voluntary decision to step down from her role.”

Reactions from RHOP Cast and Fans

The arrest has sparked concern among fellow reality stars and fans alike. Bravo executive Andy Cohen commented on the October 13 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, saying:

“I know nothing of the charges more than you guys do, than what I’ve read. I’m sad about this. I’m really sad about this. I’m a Wendy fan, and she has been a great housewife and a great role model.”

Cohen praised Wendy for her dedication to education and family values while expressing hope that the case may ultimately reveal nothing significant against her.
