Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the daughter of Neetu Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor, recently recounted a harrowing experience during a flight from Delhi to Mumbai, which left her and her 14-year-old daughter Samara terrified. The interior designer and reality show star, who is soon set to make her big-screen debut, shared the details of the incident, explaining how the plane took off immediately after landing in Mumbai, creating a moment of panic for both mother and daughter.

Riddhima described the experience as unprecedented, saying, “It was quite terrifying. We have never experienced this before. We didn’t know what was happening.” She detailed how the sudden ascent after landing left her struggling to keep calm for her daughter, who clutched her hand in fear. “My daughter was very scared and kept asking, ‘Mumma, what is going on?’ I had to stay calm for her, even though I was really terrified,” Riddhima added.

The designer also shared a family ritual that has long been part of the Kapoor household. “It’s always been a family thing to write ‘JMD’ (Jai Mata Di) while taking off and while landing. It’s a habit since we were in college and traveling abroad,” she explained. This practice reflects the family’s deep-rooted connection to each other, as they make it a point to stay informed about one another’s whereabouts.

Riddhima recalled the exact moment the plane ascended after landing: “As soon as I landed, I informed my family, and immediately after 4-5 seconds, we started the ascent again. I was really scared. I tried to message my family to let them know we were taking off again, but the message didn’t go through. I am just glad that we landed safely.”

Despite the fear, Riddhima emphasized the importance of staying composed for her daughter’s sake. She reflected on the ordeal as a reminder of the fragility and preciousness of life. “Just realized life is too precious,” she said, underlining the emotional impact of the experience.
