Senator Ned Nwoko Threatens Legal Action Over Online Harassment

Senator Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta North) has announced plans to pursue legal action against individuals involved in online harassment, cyberstalking, and criminal defamation directed at him.

The statement, issued Thursday by Nwoko’s Communication Team, expressed concern over what it described as a coordinated effort to spread false narratives aimed at portraying the senator as being persecuted for ulterior motives.

“Sen. Nwoko is fully engaged in his legislative, developmental, and business responsibilities and has no interest in online distractions or fabricated drama,” the statement read. It added that grave allegations should be addressed through legal channels, not misinformation or emotional manipulation.

The senator has instructed his lawyers to file petitions with the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the DSS, and the Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime Unit) to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the harassment. Authorities will trace relevant digital footprints to ensure lawful action is pursued.

The statement further cautioned against using false narratives to manipulate public sympathy, warning that today’s falsehoods against one person could target anyone tomorrow.

Additionally, the senator urged the United States and United Kingdom governments to be wary of attempts to stage artificial drama around his family for personal gain, emphasizing that asylum claims should be based on verified facts and legal processes, not sensationalized stories.

The office concluded by reassuring the public that Sen. Nwoko remains focused on his work, upholding dignity, responsibility, and due process.
