The Taraba State Unity, Progressive and Reconciliation Forum has thrown its weight behind the anticipated defection of Governor Agbu Kefas from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a communiqué released on Wednesday, the forum described the governor’s expected move as a “welcome development” that aligns with his commitment to the welfare and advancement of Taraba State.

“We welcome His Excellency’s decision to join the APC as a step that will enhance progress and development in our great state. The governor’s leadership and experience will be invaluable assets to our party,” the statement read.

Signed by the forum’s Chairman, Ibrahim Waziri, and Secretary, Sani Tulu, the communiqué urged Governor Kefas to join the APC unconditionally and assured him of total support from members.

The group also called on APC stakeholders across the state to receive the governor and his supporters warmly, emphasizing unity and collaboration for sustainable growth.

“We are confident that this development will usher in a new era of progress and stability in Taraba State,” the forum added.
