Taylor Swift is giving fans another reason to celebrate as she unveils two new Disney+ projects chronicling her record-breaking Eras Tour. The announcement came during her October 13 appearance on Good Morning America, just days after she released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The first project, The End of an Era, is a six-part docuseries that offers an intimate look behind the scenes of the Eras Tour. According to a press release, the series will explore “the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour,” providing fans with an unprecedented glimpse into Swift’s life on the road and the monumental production that captivated audiences worldwide. The first two episodes premiere on December 12, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly.
In tandem, Swift will release Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a filmed recording of the tour’s final performance on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. The concert film will feature performances from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which was not included in her first Eras Tour concert film as the album had not yet been released at the time.
The announcement arrives in the wake of Swift’s chart-topping release, The Life of a Showgirl, which debuted on October 3 and became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day for 2025. Swift paired the release with a unique fan experience at AMC theaters, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, featuring lyric videos for each track and an exclusive first look at the video for the album’s lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia.”
Despite speculation that the docuseries might signal a new tour, Swift clarified that she has no immediate plans to return to touring. In an interview with BBC Radio 1 on October 3, she admitted that after completing the Eras Tour—a record-breaking journey that grossed over $2 billion—she is taking a well-deserved break. “I’m so tired when I think about doing it again because I would want to do it really, really well again,” she said.
Amid her busy schedule, Swift is also turning her attention to her personal life. The singer announced her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce in August 2025 and has started focusing on wedding planning. A source close to Swift told PEOPLE that the singer is “very excited about planning the wedding” and is using her newfound downtime to support Kelce, including attending the Kansas City Chiefs’ latest victory on October 12.
While fans eagerly await the Disney+ releases on December 12, Swift continues to solidify her legacy with The Life of a Showgirl, The End of an Era, and her live concert film, proving once again that she can redefine the music and entertainment landscape while balancing her personal milestones.
