Taylor Swift Calls Travis Kelce the ‘Love of My Life’ on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Pop superstar Taylor Swift opened up about her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce during her December 10, 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, calling him the “love of my life.”

During the interview, Swift, 35, reflected on recent highlights in her personal and professional life, including getting engaged to Kelce and regaining control of her music catalog.

“Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back. Those were two things that just might never have happened… I’m so grateful for both of those things happening,” Swift said.

Engagement and Public Romance

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, 2025, sharing a joint Instagram post that playfully read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” Kelce proposed with a custom-designed ring created with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, featuring a dazzling old mine brilliant cut stone, which Swift proudly showcased in her announcement photos.

Since their engagement, Swift has been open about her affection for Kelce in public appearances. At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, she praised him during her acceptance speech:

“Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So, I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”

Swift has also shown support at Kelce’s football games, including cheering him on during the AFC Championship in January 2025 and referring to him as a “vibe booster” and “so loyal” in previous interviews.

Late Show Appearance and Disney+ Projects

For her December 10 appearance, Swift looked effortlessly elegant in a burgundy velvet David Koma mini dress, paired with sparkling jewelry and velvet heels. This marked her first guest appearance on the series since 2021 and coincided with the lead-up to her new Disney+ docuseries, The End of an Era, which premieres December 12, 2025.

The six-part docuseries chronicles the development, impact, and behind-the-scenes of The Eras Tour, offering fans an intimate look at Swift’s life on tour. Alongside the docuseries, Swift will release Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a live recording of her final Eras Tour concert at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada, on December 12, 2025. The film features the complete The Tortured Poets Department set, which was not included in her previous Eras Tour film.

Swift’s Late Show appearance, engagement revelations, and back-to-back Disney+ releases demonstrate her continued dominance in music, entertainment, and pop culture, while giving fans an in-depth view of her personal life and career milestones.
