Pop superstar Taylor Swift revealed her all-time favorite song during her December 10, 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Promoting her upcoming Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era and her new concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, Swift shared the track that tops her list—and it’s a longtime fan favorite.
During the interview, Colbert asked Swift to name her top five songs from her extensive catalog, noting that legendary artists like Dolly Parton, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John had already shared their picks. Clearly feeling the pressure, Swift admitted she needed a moment to consider all five.
“This is so much pressure, oh my god,” she said, before explaining that her selections evolve over time and require reflection.
However, Swift was decisive about her number one choice: “All Too Well” (10-minute version), which drew cheers from the studio audience.
Revisiting a Fan-Favorite Track
Originally released on her 2012 album Red, All Too Well has become one of Swift’s most celebrated songs. In November 2021, she released a 10-minute extended version as part of Red (Taylor’s Version), accompanied by a short film she directed starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink. The song reflects a deeply personal heartbreak from Swift’s early twenties, which she revisited with emotional clarity in the extended version and film.
“Emotionally, I was going through exactly what the short film depicts… if a story is hard to tell, that means it’s incredibly emotionally potent, but it’s impossible to tell it with perspective and truth if you’re in it sometimes,” Swift told Variety in 2023.
Swift also mentioned that other tracks, like “Mirrorball” from her 2020 album Folklore, would likely make her top-five list, though she admitted her current obsession is with her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Promoting The End of an Era and Eras Tour Film
Swift’s appearance on Colbert was part of her promotion for The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries that premieres on Disney+ with the first two episodes on December 12, 2025. Each week, two new episodes will drop, providing fans an intimate behind-the-scenes look at her record-breaking Eras Tour.
On the same day, fans will also have access to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a full recording of her final Eras Tour performance on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. Both releases celebrate Swift’s global impact, career longevity, and her ability to connect deeply with fans through music and storytelling.
According to a press release, the docuseries “follows the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour,” offering an unprecedented look at Swift’s life on and offstage.
With her candid discussion of her favorite song and her ongoing projects, Swift continues to provide fans with both personal insights and immersive experiences of her artistry.
