The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has praised President Bola Tinubu for laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth and shared prosperity in Nigeria.
Idris made the remarks while receiving members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027 during a courtesy visit in Abuja, as stated by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media, Malam Rabiu Ibrahim.
“The administration has taken bold and sometimes difficult decisions to place Nigeria on a more sustainable path. Early signs of recovery are evident across key sectors of the economy. These steps were taken to stabilise the economy and restore confidence,” Idris said.
He added that the country’s improving economic outlook must be protected through unity, responsible communication, and collective support for national policies. He warned that distorted narratives about Nigeria could hurt investor confidence and slow development, emphasizing the need for truthful and positive communication to attract investments and create opportunities.
The minister also commended GAT 2027 for its civic engagement and willingness to partner with the ministry in areas such as public enlightenment, youth engagement, and strategic communication, noting that effective advocacy is essential for national stability and development.
Reaffirming President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance, Idris assured that the ministry would continue collaborating with credible groups to ensure accurate information is widely shared.
Speaking on behalf of GAT 2027, National Coordinator Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele said the group aimed to support the president’s policies by countering misinformation, engaging youth, and clarifying government policies at the grassroots level, particularly ahead of the 2027 elections.
