Troops Arrest Major Drug Supplier to Boko Haram/ISWAP

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, “Operation Hadin Kai” (OPHK), have arrested a suspected major drug supplier to Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists operating in parts of Borno and Adamawa States.

The suspect, identified as Zubairu Muhammad, 45, was apprehended around 6:30 a.m. last Tuesday by soldiers of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) in Uba, Adamawa State.

Sources say Muhammad is believed to be a key supplier of cannabis sativa and crystal meth (ICE) to terrorists via the Askira-Uba, Chibok, Michika, and Damboa corridors.

During the arrest, troops recovered 14 blocks of cannabis sativa valued at over N1 million, and 43 grams of ICE, worth more than N3 million. Muhammad was also found in possession of two Army camouflage T-shirts, allegedly used to deliver the illicit substances.

Preliminary investigations have been concluded, and the exhibits will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Yola Command for further action.
