Popular activist and social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has drawn widespread praise online after announcing plans to sponsor a gifted young Nigerian boy abroad, using a $50,000 cash gift he recently received.
In an emotional video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan revealed that a benefactor had promised to support him financially after witnessing his humanitarian activities during a recent trip to China. The promise, he said, was later fulfilled with a $50,000 cash gift.
However, VDM explained that shortly after receiving the money, he was reminded of a young Nigerian boy whose talent he had encountered on Instagram months earlier but did not engage with at the time due to a busy schedule.
According to him, the boy’s content resurfaced recently after a friend reposted it, prompting a renewed look that left him deeply moved.
VDM disclosed that the boy had independently built a blender, power bank, and projector from scratch, showcasing exceptional creativity, intelligence, and technical skill.
“I will not let that boy’s life or talent die like many others in Nigeria,” he said.
He revealed that he has since contacted the boy and requested to speak with his parents, stressing that while he is not wealthy and “comes from the streets,” God has elevated him and placed a responsibility on him to help others.
VeryDarkMan pledged to sponsor the boy’s education abroad to ensure he receives the exposure, training, and support needed to fully develop his talent and reach his potential.
He also clarified that although a portion of the money would be used to settle personal debts, investing in the boy’s future remains a top priority.
The announcement has sparked emotional reactions across social media, reigniting conversations about untapped talent in Nigeria, lack of opportunities, and the urgent need to support gifted youths before their potential is lost.
