West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a move for France international defender Estelle Cascarino from Juventus as the January transfer window progresses. The 28-year-old centre-back is said to have handed in a transfer request at the Italian club, signaling her desire to make the move to the Women’s Super League and link up with the new Hammers manager, Rita Guarino.
Cascarino has 18 months remaining on her contract at Juventus, but reports from Italy suggest she is eager to leave and has targeted West Ham as her next club. The potential transfer comes shortly after Guarino’s appointment as West Ham head coach; the Italian coach has strong connections in her homeland, having previously managed Juventus and Inter Milan. These ties could help facilitate the defender’s move.
The France international has an extensive playing history across Europe. In 2023, she spent six months on loan at Manchester United, although she made just two appearances during that stint. Before her time in England, Cascarino played for Paris Saint-Germain, Bordeaux, Paris FC, and Lyon, establishing herself as a reliable and versatile defender at the top levels of European women’s football.
Cascarino has also represented her country at the international level, earning 18 caps for France, and her experience and tactical awareness make her a coveted addition for West Ham as they look to strengthen their squad in the Women’s Super League 2026 campaign.
For West Ham, the signing of Cascarino would not only bolster the defence but also provide Guarino with a familiar and trusted player who understands Italian football culture and high-level European competition. The transfer could be finalized before the January window closes, depending on negotiations between the clubs and the player’s agreement on terms.
